At the beginning of 2018, I made a New Year Resolution (something I rarely do), to design and style 52 floral arrangements (1 per week for a year = 52). I have loved flowers for longer than I can remember and often toyed around with the idea of abandoning my professional career for one in floral and event design.
Well, much to the relief of my husband and mother, God called me on a different path (no little floral design boutique in Geneva for me!). However, that didn’t mean my passion for flowers was quelled. I wanted to grow and develop as a designer – even if it wasn’t professionally. I committed myself to watching design videos online. I asked local growers a ton of questions and studiously poured through floral design books.
I am proud to report that – at the end of 2018 – I kept my resolution. Below represents my portfolio of work over the past year. Floral design will not be my career – but it will be something special and intimate to me; a gift, if you will, to be shared with those I care about – those who wish to learn what I learned – and for those who just need flowers!
Thank you so much to everyone who supported me along this journey. Cheers and be blessed!
